Our economy mainly depends on the big and reputed organisation . But maximum of the big organisations are getting bad reputations . This is because most of the organisations are involved in some or the other unethical practices that are not acceptable by some . Unethical practices are something which is wrong and we are doing the wrong things . It increases the risk of the organisations. Unethical practices are not morally correct .Some of the common examples of unethical practices are-
1.Misleading the facts .
2.Gender discrimination
3.Manipulating thoughts and emotions
4.child labor
5.Exploiting workers
6.Harming environment
etc.
Ethical values means honest and follows the moral values .Ethical values means doing the right things because it is right to do,which doesn't harm others. It reduces the risk of the organisation.
Ethical practices are helpful in running the organisations smoothly. Here are the some of the common examples of ethical values-
1. corporate social responsibility
2.Equal opportunities
3. Honesty
4. Trustworthiness
etc.
I am here to give my views on the unethical practices done by one of the reputed organisation named Nestle. Nestle is a reputed company for the food and the beverage company. Nestle company made a product on the baby milk i.e similar to the formula of the breastfeeding milk . They have given the product to the low economically developed countries , specifically targeting the poor. They thought that this formula is better as a mother's milk. This is highly unethical for several reasons.
1. First and the foremost problem was the water sanitation problem. Mostly to the African countries as they were not having access to clean water in proper amount so it was necessary to boil water .Due to low literacy rates in African countries , many mothers were not aware of this, so they mixed the formula with polluted water which put the children at great risks. It seems that Nestle knowingly ignored this . And they encouraged mothers to use the formula even when they knew the risks."So like mother’s milk that the tiny stomach won’t notice the difference”. But the tiny stomach did notice the difference."After that when Nestle heard about the sanitation problem Nestle’s response was that those who are criticizing that they should focus on something to improve the water sanitation problem, which is contributed to the health problems associated with bottle feeding. They later used this approach to promote his bottled water.

They should stop selling the formula because the first thing is that mother's milk is very pure and good for health. Doctor's advice to all the new mothers is that the infant should get proper breastfeeding milk upto the 6 months from the delivery. This is the most unethical practice by the Nestlé company.
And second unethical practice is that after knowing that mothers and infants are getting affected they should stop selling product . Instead of that they are pointing to the critics that they should do something to improve water sanitation problem. they also started selling their own bottled waters.
Today, Nestle is being boycotted from several countries Nestle, despite their claims to be in compliance with WHO regulations. There is even a committee, the International Nestlé Exclusion Committee, which monitors their practices. Several universities and student organizations have also joined the boycott, most notably in the UK.
The public lost due to this aggressive marketing campaign is not a clear, public number, and of course, Nestlé is not directly responsible for its tragedies. But it was easy for them, because it was easy for everyone to see the risks and their formula was negatively affected. Profits before children – check. Let’s move on. Here I am having my reference-

Here is the only one unethical practice that I thought is the most concerned problem, as because this is harming to the mothers as well as the infants .
You are requested to share your views regarding this unethical practice . Please share my blog to everyone and give your valuable comments.

But my question is- Is it possible that company did this purposely or it was a blunders by Nestle
First of all thank you for reading my blog .....well according to your question I want to give my opinion that Nestle must have done it purposely as they wanted more profit because they also sold bottled water after that issue of sanitation to gain more profit.

ReplyDeleteWhat can be the steps to make them ethical?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your reply..... in my point of view first of all they should stop selling the formula or the product as because it is adviced by the doctors that infants should take mother's milk upto 6 months ..... n secondly when came to know that there is a problem of sanitation n illiteracy then they must stop selling the product in those areas ....
